Who we are

KOMEYUI operates two restaurants:

  • KOMEYUI Melbourne — Komeyui Melbourne Pty Ltd (ABN 68 688 666 677), 181 Ferrars Street, Southbank VIC 3006
  • KOMEYUI Brisbane — Komeyui Brisbane Pty Ltd (ABN 35 663 227 950), 191–203 Wharf Street, Spring Hill QLD 4000

What this policy covers

In this policy, “we” means the company that operates the restaurant you book with or contact. It explains how we collect, use, store and share personal information when you visit komeyui.com.au, make a booking, contact us or apply to work with us.

What we collect

  • When you book: your name, phone number and email address, the number of guests, the date, time and seating you choose, any dietary requirements, allergies or comments you give us, and, if you provide them, your postcode or company name. Whether you agree to receive marketing from us is also recorded.
  • Card details: where a booking needs a card guarantee, your card details are collected and held by our booking provider, NowBookIt, and its payment processor, not by KOMEYUI.
  • When you dine with us: notes that help us look after you, such as dietary requirements, and a record of your bookings.
  • When you contact us: the details you choose to give us.
  • When you apply for a job: the information in your application.

How we use it

To confirm and manage your booking; to prepare for your visit, including dietary requirements and allergies; to contact you about your booking; to apply our booking and cancellation terms; to improve our service; to consider a job application; and, only if you have agreed, to send you news and offers. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any of our emails or by contacting us.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run our restaurants and this website, and only for these purposes:

  • NowBookIt — online bookings and card guarantees
  • Square — gift vouchers and online takeaway orders
  • Mailchimp — email news and offers, if you have agreed to receive them
  • Google (Firebase) — hosting this website, storing our menus and event images, and keeping the daily counts of page views and clicks described under Cookies
  • Google (Firebase) and Resend — receiving the enquiries you send through this website and passing them to the restaurant's team by email

Information stored outside Australia

Some of these providers may store or process information outside Australia.

Cookies

This website does not set its own cookies. It counts, for each day, how many times a page was opened and how many times a button such as “Book” was pressed, without cookies and without recording who you are or your device’s address; if your browser asks not to be tracked, nothing is counted. When you book, the booking form is provided by NowBookIt, which may use cookies and similar technology under its own privacy policy. Links to other websites, for example Instagram, Square or Google Maps, take you to services with their own policies.

Keeping and protecting your information

We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold. We keep it only for as long as we need it for the purposes above or as required by law, and then delete or de-identify it.

Access and correction

You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting us below.

Contact and complaints

If you have a question or a complaint about how we handle your personal information, please contact the restaurant concerned. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
